Jennifer Budd is an accomplished team coach and executive coach, as well as a consultant, trainer, and facilitator. She leverages more than two decades of experience in the professional development field to support teams and leaders to gain the tools and insights needed to do their best work in complex, rapidly evolving environments. Jennifer helps clients to adjust the aperture of their perspective — making them more aware of their ability to change what they’ve been doing and start seeing better results.
Jennifer is a leader in the field of team coaching, becoming one of the first coaches in the world to earn the Advanced Certification in Team Coaching (ACTC) from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Her approach to coaching is informed by her deep expertise in counseling, coaching, leadership, and teams, combined with her practical executive and government experience. Jennifer’s ultimate “win” is when her clients learn to self-correct and self-regulate with more effective habits, sustaining them long after the engagement has concluded.
Jennifer began her career at NASA, managing the talent development function for the Glenn Research Center, where she led comprehensive strategic training and development programs for roles ranging from rocket scientists to OSHA safety professionals. She designed, implemented, and managed leadership development programs and initiatives, including the first Agency-wide development program for emerging leaders, which resulted in greater capabilities in the next generation of NASA leadership and became known as a best practice across the Federal government. While at NASA, she also received her coaching certification through New Ventures West and began doing internal coaching.
She continued her work in HR and talent management at commercial organizations such as Babcock & Wilcox, where she managed the design and delivery of corporate leadership development initiatives, and Goodyear, where she developed end-to-end talent strategy for the North America Manufacturing Organization. In these fast-paced, high-pressure environments, Jennifer gained a deep understanding of the complex challenges executives face. Through this work, she realized that coaching leaders and teams to uncover “ah-ha” moments and fresh perspectives was her true passion — and that helping others uncover their own leadership capability was the work she most wanted to do.
After her own professional “ah-ha moment,” Jennifer became part of the founding team at Corentus, Inc., a private coaching and consulting firm. She served as Chief Business Officer, providing executive oversight of company operations, talent management, and business development, and also served as client lead on major corporate accounts and senior faculty in professional development programs.
In 2022, Jennifer founded Development Unbound with the desire to empower clients to build the awareness they need to operate from a place of choice, rather than habit. She uses a holistic approach to support individuals and teams in meeting their most challenging coaching goals.
Increasingly, Jennifer’s work includes supporting organizations and leaders as they navigate the human and team implications of artificial intelligence — helping them strengthen judgment, adaptability, and perspective as technology reshapes roles, decisions, and ways of working. Her AI-related work includes human-centered AI readiness assessments, leadership and team workshops, and design sessions that align AI adoption with organizational values, ethics, and performance goals. She also teaches executive education programs on AI at Case Western Reserve University, including AI Toolkit for the Future of HR and Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Leadership Essentials in the Era of AI — programs she can also bring directly into organizations.
A lifelong learner, Jennifer recently earned accreditation as a Coach Supervisor. Coaching Supervision is a collaborative learning practice that enhances a coach’s capacity by offering a safe environment for support, development, and reflection. A consistent theme throughout Jennifer’s work is creating reflective space for people to see things differently and discover new possibilities.
Jennifer lives with her family in Medina, Ohio, and can often be found supporting her children’s hobbies and performances. She is a creative at heart who enjoys photography, sewing, and crafting.
